Studio Policy
Our Philosophy:
We believe in the power of music to
enrich the lives of both children and adults. We also believe that
everyone should be given the opportunity to develop their creative and
musical abilities in a positive learning atmosphere. Group piano
instruction has proven to be a natural and effective way to learn to
play the piano and develop an appreciation for the beauty of music.
1. Our group piano lessons are formed by age and
level compatibility.
| Pre-Kinder and Kinder |

4 students per group |
| Elementary |
|
4-6 students per group |
| Teen |
|
6-8 Students per group |
| Adults |
|
8-12 students per group |
|
Youth classes meet for a 45 minute lesson each
week. |
|
Adult classes meet for a 60 minute lesson each
week. |
2. Student preparation requirements: The
rate of progress is directly related to preparation time for each
lesson. For the beginning student a minimum of 30-45 minutes (depending
on age), six days a week is necessary to achieve the weekly assignment
goals. As students progress to higher levels, more practice will be
required. Younger students will require assistance by a parent as they
first learn the discipline of practicing on a regular schedule.
3. Instrument requirements: A well tuned,
quality instrument to prepare for each lesson is critical for each
student’s development. Because portable keyboards have proven to harm
the technical and musical development of the beginning student, they are
not recommended. If you do not have an acceptable practice instrument
in your home, please inquire about our student piano rental program.
4. Tuition and Payment: Tuition for all
classes is $60 per month. Each month will be pro-rated for the amount
of each lesson in the month. Pro-rates will not be given for absences
on the part of the student; however they will be honored on behalf of
the teacher. Most semesters will average out to 4 lessons per month.
Tuition is due at the first lesson of each month and can be paid to the
teacher. There will be a late fee of $5.00 for tuitions received after
the 10th of each month. All checks should be made out to
either “The Piano Gallery” or "Valley Keyboards".
5. Missed lessons: When a lesson is missed
a teacher/student or a teacher/parent telephone conference will be
conducted to ensure the student understands what was covered in the
class and what to prepare for the next week. There will be no
adjustments in tuition due to missed lessons. Missed lessons should be
avoided if at all possible to ensure the growth of the student and the
teamwork of the class.
6. Celebrations! All classes will
participate in three Celebrations! per year. The
Celebrations! are opportunities for the students to share their
music with family and friends in a friendly, supportive environment.
Advanced notice will be given of date and time to allow everyone to
schedule this special event in their calendar.
